There's excitement in the air because Penny's birthday is right around the corner.
Tea Rat has raided all the lampshades in our lovely cottage.
And he is planning a birthday banquet, he says, "fit for Americans".
I don't know what an "American" is, but I have the feeling the banquet will be calorie apocalypse.
Tea Rat says not to worry myself.
I shan't. Oh dear, oh dear.

TEA RAT: That is right old man, don't go into a tizzy, untwist your knickers (oh I don't know how you can stand to wear those things...they itch), and trust in me. Loosen your belt, or rather, take off all the buttons from your vest and let it all hang out for WE ARE GOING TO CELEBRATE for our dear friend PENNY!!!
Aaah Wonderful...can I pick one...I can..then I would love the bright red one for Miss Moussie...it will go lovely with the cheese..and a black one for me ..very top hat like..will go nicely with the grapes...OEPS...so sorry..now this beautiful lampshade tower you put up collapsed..Silly me...
Ahhh! Bright red it is, little mouse, and rich black for the Gentleman Mozes....splendid, splendid!!! TEA RAT
TEA RAT: Ohhh! I see Tea Rat is navigating the tea pot to NOWHERE on the header!!!! ONWARD MATES! ONWARD! In the sea of tea, we shall shipwreck wrecklessly on the shores of FUN!
RATTUS: Oh dear, I was hoping for a quiet evening nursing my calabash and a fine port....
Oh my goodness! Do I feel loved or what.. Now this is what I call a lampshade party.. Could you save me that pretty blue one? and a pink for Bebe? I will be in late Sunday to join the party...
Bebe wanted to know if she could bring Maurice... She has run into him in Italy and told him of this bash on Sunday...

Eliza here, my dears...I believe I shall choose a GrEEN lamp shade, for that is the color of my handsome man's boots...Oh, how I ADORE his green boots!!
Now, I believe someone mentioned grapes??? Do I need to bring a wheelbarrow full??
And might I add, Mistress Grammy came across a lovely Raspberry Cheese...and it seems most delightful with those Italian crispy little crackers she purchased.
I could sneak to the icebox and carve a little wedge??
Oh, a PARTY, a Birthday Party for our dearest dear friend!!!
I will NOT be able to contain my excitement!!!
Dear Eliza,
If you wear green boots, Tea Rat will love you forever. If you bring a wheelbarrow full of grapes, Anita will love you forever. If you bring cheese and crackers, all mice and rats will love you forever.
You're setting yourself up for a lot'a love.

"I think I will need two lampshades!" "one in taupe, the other..hmm well green!!1 what else would I choose?" Rattus, you'll need a black one for sure, and TeaRat too, but Penny, black?..well, you are the party girl, I think we should let you wear whatever color you like, heck, maybe you will even want to change hats mid party...I am going to decorate one especially fitting for the party girl!! woohoo..I love me a party!!" ~now where did I put them polkadots, and those streamers?" Hazel
Hazel.... Oh no, no... The black lampshade is for Maurice! Mum will wear a blue lampshade and I want a pink one.
I will run and ask Dimity Doormouse if she would like to join the party before all the lampshades are spoken for. Ok Tea Rat?
Bebe
I shall choose a white lampshade, it makes a very fine canvas for painting... I will most certainly paint it, for I cannot bear to leave anything "just white". Dimity will bring her finest goat cheese and raspberries fresh from the bush. Nothing is too good for Pennys birthday!
Leopard print for wild and wonderful Gretta and Pippit...something that is elaborately exquisite and Priceless!
Oh yeah...I've been meaning to mention this....we should put pictures of all the Nowhere friends on the sidebar so folks can see who's who...rats, bears, living dolls, raccoons and hedgehogs, the whole gang. Whatcha think?
That's a great idea Jackie
I returned home to find a party everywhere! What a group you all are! Thank you so much dear friends!!!!! How lucky and blessedI am.
Penny and Bebe
