Tea Rat: Rattus....RATTUS, OLD MAN! I need more water for my paint pot and more importantly, my tea pot. Hurry! I think I'm on to an idea here...

Tea Rat: Hmmm....I'm not quite sure from what angle I should begin...

Tea Rat: RATTUS! For the love of Earl Grey, where are you when I need you? I need my tea pot filled, as any good artist sips on a either a glass of wine or a cup of tea as the muse begins to flow!

Tea Rat: I've GOT IT! I know exactly what to paint!

Tea Rat: I guess I'll have to start without a fresh pot of tea. Here goes...

Tea Rat: Right. The overall appearance is excellent; there is a sensitive harmony of hues and the value mass balance is most fascinating. However, I am a bit concerned about the flatness of the background. There needs to be a bit more irregularity without compromising the linear perspective of the piece...

Tea Rat: Ahhhhh....Finally! The curves are most balanced with the mass of the subject and the color composition does not compromise the overall perspective of the subject. A MASTERPIECE!

BUT!
Thanks to Penny White, I am the best masterpiece of all.

MISS M.! YOU CAME! Oh dear, I must paint a portrait of my divine mouse! teeheee
THANK YOU dear one for stopping by! Do come back and give us your artist's critique. (isn't Penny's Tea Rat just fantastic????)
Tea Rat: Well, my dear Rattus, what do you think of my masterpiece of me?
Rattus: I think you, ah, look, um, how would my American friends put it? Ah, you look HIPS. That it, you look HIPS.
Tea Rat: Don't you mean "hip" as in "cool", "tops," the "pinnacle of what a thing can be"?
Rattus: No, I mean "hips" as in your plump heinie, butt, buttox, backside, shank, rump, behind, fanny, tush, derrière, posterior, cheeks, buns, kiester, tush, can, caboose, bum, gluteus maximus,, wazoo, arse.
Tea Rat: Well then, allow me to retort.....
you speak of my arse, caboose, kiester, etc....let's see. Time will tell. When your are delivered on the snowy doorstep in a few weeks, and as we unpack your likeness, let's see what you have to say about being "hips!" I gave Miss Penny your exact measurements that I took whilst you were sleeping. YES...whilst you were sleeping...from snout to toe, I GOT YOU GOOD! teeeheee
Rattus: Well, all I can say is that anyone who uses words like "retort" and "whilst" cannot be trusted to report the truly magnificent proportions of my bodily measurements which are brawny.
Tea Rat: I'm sorry, I didn't get that. Did you say "bulky"?
Rattus: I meant brawny as in pumped.
Tea Rat: Oh. Well I meant bulky as in plumped.
OH MY WORD! My dear Tea Rat, I had no idea you were an ARTIST of this caliber! Your painting is MAGNIFICENT!
Love and kisses,
Bebe

Stay friends, and take a cup of tea with me.
Dear Anita,
I love your marvelous illustrations, so delicate, complex and enchanting!
I had an Aunt who died last year, irene haas, who illustrated children's books with a style very similar to yours, and she got awards for her work back in the 1980's.
I always admired her talent and imagination.
(hugs)
Penny White & Tea Rat are adorable. A masterpiece indeed! Nowhere is a lovely place to be. xx
Okay...you guys have me hooked! I MUST visit this place more often!!! "For the love of Earl Grey!" THAT phrase cracked me up!!!
