Someone's Trying to Tell us Something

After a long but wonderful night of discussion and a few disagreements, the fellowship of friends moved on from their campsite to carry on their travels. In the twinkling revelation of morning dawn, a small glimmer of light caught Gretta's eye; she stood fixed, needles at a sudden halt, when she nudged Tea on the side and said, "What is this? Another book?" Tea sniffed the objects in question and then proceeded to open the beautifully carved and inlaid texts...

Tea's eyes were all a blurr given the early hour; but of what he could make out was that again, there were empty pages in the first book and half of an image in the second...

The plot thickens.

Tea quietly approached Mozes and showed him the books and they both decided it would be a good idea to take them along in their provisions sack. "Don't squish my fromage blanc!" hissed Tea as Mozes quickly stuffed the two books into the sack. "Stop thinking with your stomach for just one minute little man....we must not tell the others, not just yet."

In anticipation we await...two books, one with "The End" right in the middle of the book, what a far fetched mystery with no words that ever got us to "The End" and now a second book with a partial image of who knows where? Maybe it's Nowhere?

Indeed, Anita. The question is what lies in the pages between when the journey starts and when we all reach "The End"? Truth be told, everyone has their own "wondrous book" (and I envisioned all the companions finding their own book in different story installments).

Don't we all wish we could read everything our book is ever going to contain, as this, we think, would help us to make all the right future decisions?

But the truth is that we can only learn from what is written there about our personal and collective past, and THAT may help to inform the forward journey.

Yet the book that fell on Rattus' head had nothing written. Can it be that for whatever reason we sometimes lose the capacity to even remember, let alone gain wisdom from the past?

And yet there is also the element of "The Guide" and the book falling from the heavens. Can The Guide be a metaphor for "God"? Can moving toward the future (made wise from learning from the past) be a metaphor for the faithful living of our convictions? This cute little story has many possibilities. But it helps me to philsophize a little about important thems I would like to weave throughout the tale.

Blessings,

Dearest Rattus,
Your words made my heart leap and my mind wander. Yes, dear little Gretta from Gothere is praying right now that a book may fall from heaven to help her through her journey of mixed up and whipped up thoughts. She's a bundle of nerves at times wondering what way to go but yet, she likes a good lick of honey along the way in life and trusts still in good fortune. Gretta has a very curious mind and she looks towards the heavens for guidance.
