Gardening at Witzend

A VOICE FROM THE GARDEN OF WITZEND: Mi Lord! Mi LORD!

RATTUS: Who in the blazes is yelling from the garden at this hour?

TEA RAT: Well that's Mr. Philpotts....

RATTUS: And who, pray tell, is Mr. Philpotts?

TEA RAT: Well, he's our new gardener of course, since you have taken to sitting in the garden rather than weeding it!

RATTUS: Our new gardener, of course, well forgive me, I should have known we had a gardener...

MR. PHILPOTTS: Mi Lord! Mi Lord! I've found something!

RATTUS: MI LORD?

TEA RAT: Well, you know, one has to demonstrate to the help who's in charge and all that....

RATTUS: Right. (Rattus roles his eyes)

TEA RAT: Yes Philpotts, what have you found? CRIKEY! RATTUS, COME STRAIGHT AWAY! Oh I don't believe it, could it be?

Mr. Philpotts: It looks like an airplane, Mi Lord, like the poot-poots of old Nowhere!

TEA RAT: RATTUS, COME AT ONCE!

RATTUS: Yes, MI LORD!(eyes roll WAY back)

RATTUS: I don't believe it. I thought we crashed that contraption years ago...

TEA RAT: She's a splendid vessel!

RATTUS: SHE HAS TWO OF HER PROPELLER WINGS MISSING, AND HER TWO FRONT WHEELS! You wouldn't be able to stay in the air or land properly. Give it up, son.

TEA RAT: But look, her back wheel is still intact....can't we call on Mozes to go into his tool shed and fix her up?

RATTUS: Give it up

TEA RAT: But how will we get around for more summer magic fun? Bonie went back to Italy, and how are we ever going to transport ourselves beyond our imaginations?

Suddenly, Rattus feels a snort of hot air over his shoulder...

RATTUS: Tea Rat, come quickly!

RATTUS: TEA RAT! HELP!

TEA RAT: Whoah....whoah big feller....Rattus....shhhhhh....stay still...

TEA RAT (in a whisper): Rattus....my wishes have been answered...meet our new mode of transportation, our new friend...

This is to much to handle..I will be back..

We will have to fix that contraption or machine or device that appears strange and unnecessarily complicated, and I think badly made or unsafe...But it will have to do to get Miss Moussie back....

DUTCHESS!!!!!!! First of all, you lost the Divine Miss Moussie? I am sure she will show up again! Tea Rat INSISTS....maybe Mr. Philpotts will DIG HER UP! hahahahahahaha

Isn't Neptune DIVINE himself? Miss Penny has the hands of a Nowhere fairy....she fashioned him with a lot of love and wool. He is gentle, a sea-loving king of horses, and he will proudly be displayed in our home.

COME BACK!

TEA RAT: Get Sir Mozes out of his den and get him to either work on the old poot-poot or come out and join us for a campfire! Wouldn't that be lovely?

Neptune is marvelous..just like our dearest Penny..

Castles Crowns and Cottages said...

Isn't he? And he has a silver saddle and crown and even came with a smaller crown, so that Tea Rat could ride him and wear it and feel like a king, or a LORD! "Mi Lord" - he got Mr. Philpotts to call him that, just to feel "special." That rat...he never stops. :))))

Dearest Bebe (and Bebe's mum),
Thank you so much for sending us Neptune. What an incredible gift from an incredible friend. Upon his arrival at Witzend Cottage, Tea Rat immediately dubbed him, Neptune, White Whisper of the Sea. I haven't a clue what that means but I do hope it does not entail flying.
Yours,
Rattus

TEA RAT: Well old man, on this lazy summer day, you are drifting into napland....Neptune came to us already Neptune, but upon Miss Penny's wonderful imagination, he is named as such because of my love for the sea....

So sorry I am late.. I had to send a message to Napoleon.. What a small world it is, I believe your Mr.Philpotts worked for mum years ago.. I highly recommend him.. A very hard working chap.

Ok, let's get that poot poot back in the air! Did anyone send for Mozes? I know he could get the poot poot up in the air again.. Do you suppose that Miss Moussie is with Mozes? I hope so.

I know Neptune will be happy in his new home, and very loved.. Mum says thank you so much for your kind words.. I will miss him but I know I can visit him here...
your friend always,
BEBE

TEA RAT: Good morning everyone....Neptune is doing very well, and Mr. Philpotts has taken to assist in caring for this magical steed. Rattus is building him a stable (I knew the acres here on Witzend would serve a purpose one day!)and Mr. Philpotts will also be in charge of exercising him so when I take him out on the shores for a run, he will be well-trained. We are going for an ocean walk! Neptune is longing for a dip in the crystal clear blue waters, and so am I...

THANK YOU PENNY! We love him!

Hazel; "I believe I might have just the parts you need! You see, my street friends and I love to scavenge through the local landfill, why that's where we find all sorts of amazing stuff! You'd be surprised at the things people throw away, ...and it's still plenty good! Just let me know what Moses might need, and we'll bring it by. xoxox Hazel

Penny, dear heart, this is amazing needle felted work! Love the horse!

I have never seen anything like this. Have I wandered into a country that few know about? Even your fellow travelers seem to know the language while I am searching for a way to transport myself beyond my feeble imagination.

Bewildered but charmed,
