THE RUMBLIN' TUMBLIN' TUMMY HOUR

The cupboard door should not squeak like that, whispered Gretta from Gothere. The darn it thing! It has always been my tall tell tail sign when my tummy gets rumblin and tumblin, I can't stop snacking! What is a hedgehog like me to do, boo hoo? I love a good hour of satisfying the tummy.

Miss Mousse keeps her weight just so trim and she eats like Mozes...I have no idea how she does it. I saw her eat 1/4 cup of cheese and she even was seen licking all the whip cream up and now she is snoozing with no thought of weight gain. Perhaps if I just put on my polka dot night cap, nobody from Gothere to Nowhere will ever recognize me. They'll just think I'm Miss Mousse up to her normal binge.
Oh forget that...I see that chocolate chip cookie...I can't resist...I can't resist....here I go, ready or not...nobody will ever know...
Oh NO...did I see that gnome? I'm gonna grab this cookie and go before he finds me. He can't keep a secret to save his life!
As I was dragin' my cookie find from the counter to behind the coffee pot I heard that gnome call out..."Gretta, can I join you?" He's coming my way...oh NO, oh NO! I remember those alphabet letters that spelled NO...NO way gnome, NO cookie here, NO, all gone! NO rumblin' tumlin' NO more!
The gnome sat on the left over Christmas napkin with chin in his hands, frustrated there were NO crumbs left behind. With a second thought he yelled out...NO matter what Gretta, I still love ya, all the way to NOwhere. Your not gittin' rid of me over a dumb cookie!
Gretta felt sad, because greed was to be had. Next time she would share, for sure and she promptly rolled on her back, behind the coffee pot and went fast asleep!

Too cute, yes I too suffer from too many cookies. I found a pkg of ones that were meant to be sent in the freezer. Oh me oh my, I just yanked them out to thaw and I guess I will just have to add them to our waistlines too.
Thank God the holidays are almost over for another year. I so look forward to them but am so fat and sassy and happy to see then pass.
Such is life in my Sanctuary.

Oh dear Gretta,
You have nothing to fear little spiney one! You are not fat....round, yes, but not fat. All creatures need that extra 5 layers to keep warm! Hey...pssst...come over to Rabbit Hill. We have some chocolate fudge gingerbread cookies baking in the oven! No one will ever know. We can keep each other warm...did you see how much snow we got? I need the company! Dearest Gretta,
You need never concern yourself about gaining weight. This is fantasy! This is the place where a magic pot never runs out of stew, and soup can be made of stones. So who's to say that I can't eat the whole cupboard of goodies and not only not gain weight, but get slimmer.
Well, maybe that's not fantasy land so much as the loony bin.

Love ya,
Rattus
