Surprise on the way...

Mr. Raccoon grabbed his belongings since he knew there was no place like home. Nowhere was his home. Ignoring his hurting hands, Mr. Raccoon started his journey.
He had walked about five and a half miles when he stumbled across a sickly owl. His head was laden with a cumbersome bag, which Mr. Raccoon decided was to soothe a headache. The traveler ‘s first thought was to exchange greetings with the newcomer and then continue onward, but his heart melted when he looked closer at the poor creature. Mr. Raccoon decided he would introduce himself and make the owl’s acquaintance. Little did he know, however, what sort of trouble would come his way…

Just letting you know I've been following along with all these adventures. Waiting to see what happens to Mr Racoon and this mysterious little owl. I made the mistake of listening to the news and this makes a fun escape! Thank you!

When I was a little girl walking in our woods, I looked down at the base of a tall fir tree and there was a little baby owl. My mama called the fish and game department and they came and gave me a good girl award for saving the little owls life. In those same woods, years later I would hear the owls especially in January hooting and mating and I remembered that baby owl. Thanks for bring back the memory for me tonight. Lovely Patricia, just lovely.

Dearest Jacqueline~What a brave thing you did.As a child, I had a tendancy to hold little animals that I found, and bring home...grin... I know , I know.... not the right thing to do!
Two years ago , I found a dead owl... I want to bring home and freeze so I could look at and paint... but I didn't as I learned that they are protected and it is agaisnt US laws....
Many times, during springtime , one can sit at our porch and listen to the owl's song... it is beautiful.... I have seen many owls here at our farm.... I am facinated by them!*grin*
((( Thank you ))) for sharing your memories... it made me smile~

Oh Tita! I am sorry for being so late....Friday night was just a blurr for me; I had woken up at 3:00am, went to work, came home and crashed on the couch! I am sitting here now, trying to think of what I am going to post on my main blog! Your drawings are precious and communicate the tenderness and frailty of nature. Ruben has rescued many injured animals each and every summer on our walks! He rescued baby ducks, baby rabbits and birds. Beautifully rendered my dear...what a lovely journey we are all on, non? Bisous my fellow traveler and friend! Anita
