Hazel has been so busy with keeping all of her street friends safe, and warm, she barely has time for herself. She often thinks of the place over the hill called Nowhere, and dreams that one day, she might even live there!
You know, Hazel is no fool, no, not even at the ripe old age of 9! She has seen many a down and dirty deal, and has been dealt a few of her own. She saw the little living doll, and thought to herself that perhaps she could help the doll be happier, or something, she couldn't quite put her finger on what exactly it was about that little Pippit, but something was missing, or something just wasn't quite right about her.
Hazel made herself a promise, The very next time she goes over that hill, she is going to find that little Pippit, and do something nice for her! Maybe one of the "treasures" Hazel has found out in the landfill would be nice...there's that old lipstick case she found, it's kinda pretty, way too girlie for Hazel anyway..no that's not quite right, or perhaps the coffee mug with the chipped handle, little Pippit could actually sit right in it she's so small...no that won't work either..hmmm
Hazel would have to give this one some thought, after all, she didn't really know much about the living doll, but felt a strong connection for some odd reason. Still, Hazel thought none of them there, in that perfect little place could possibly understand about being an orphan, or living on the streets, or being cold and dirty. What was she thinking? She would never fit in there..oh dare to dream, dare to dream...
